Geert de Snoo, Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML), Leiden University, Netherlands
Geert de Snoo studied Biology at the Free University Amsterdam. He did his PhD at the Leiden University (1995) concerning unsprayed field margins and the implications for biodiversity, environment and agricultural practice. Since 2003 he is endowed professor at Wageningen University in the field of Nature Conservation on Farmland. He is also member of the Dutch Board for Authorisation of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (CTGB).
On 1 March 2009 he was appointed as Chair of Conservation Biology within the Faculty of Sciences, Leiden University. He is director of the faculty Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) and head of the department of Conservation Biology of CML. Two of his fields of interest are biodiversity and sustainability in agricultural areas.
